According to the results of 2021, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod and Rostov-on-Don were recognized as the most comfortable cities for living with millions. In 2021, the share of Russian cities with a favorable environment increased by 10 percentage points to 44%. This is evidenced by the data of the urban environment quality index of 2021, calculated by the Ministry of Construction of the Russian Federation together with Dom.RF. “At the end of the year, the number of cities with a favorable environment amounted to 490, which is 115 cities more than in 2020. By 2024, according to the federal project “Formation of a comfortable urban environment”, the share of cities with a favorable environment in Russia should grow to 60%, and by 2030 — to 80%.
